WATERS GULCH DIGITAL ANNOUNCES JOINT
COMMERCIAL WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT

JACKSONVILLE, OREGON (July 17th, 2003)...Waters Gulch Digital and intelliTech Computing Solutions announce joint Website venture.

IntelliTech Computing Solutions, a Central Point network and Web engineering firm with hardware and software capabilities, and Waters Gulch Digital are joining forces to start up a commercial Website specializing in sales of accessories for consumer electronic devices. IntelliTech will own and operate the site, and Waters Gulch Digital will design the interface and do the backend programming.

"We have established relations with a drop-shipper and credit card processing service to handle the transactions. We won't have to keep any local inventory." Loran Hughes, principle of intelliTech Computing explains, "The purchase process has to be rapid and enjoyable and leave the buyer with a feeling of security about the transaction."

Using inexpensive Open Source resources such as Linux®, Apache Web Server, MySQL and PHP (LAMP) technologies, Waters Gulch Digital creates pleasing, fast-loading, responsive consumer purchasing applications. "Buyers want fast response, accurate shipping estimates, and notification of shipping events." Nilsson says, "Open Source tools like PHP and MySQL let us deploy rapidly and reliably, and don't require complex server support like Java applications. This means we can port the applications to almost any public hosting service that provides Linux or UNIX servers."

"Utilizing wholesaling drop-shippers is a great way to do 'cottage' Web industry," says Hughes,"such services provide catalogs as tab-delimited files that you load into a database for retrieval by the Web application [Website pages]. Your site customers choose items from the database using a 'catalog' online, and the orders are forwarded to the drop shipper after secure payment verification."

Cash investment for a start up of this kind is relatively low, on the order of $200 to $500 dollars depending on the third-party services utilized. "Our business plan calls for a break-even at 3 months" says Hughes, "and that's a realistic goal for this type of implementation."

"We kept starting expenses low, for instance, by using a free online shopping cart service as opposed to writing our own, to get online quickly." explains Nilsson. "That let's us initially put a lot of our effort into a good catalog design, and to concentrate on search engine optimization." Nilsson refers to making sure search engines like MSN, Google, and Altavista become aware of the site and give it high ranking in its field; consumer electronics accessories.
